Understanding PFAS in Groundwater
Wednesday, May 28th ~ 2-4pm EST
Presenters:Â John Jacob & Lance Robinson
There has been a debate surrounding the toxicity of PFAS, particularly regarding the extent of risk and the appropriate level of regulation. While many scientists agree that PFAS are harmful and pose significant health risks, the exact nature and severity of these risks are still being debated. In this EnviroClass, you will learn more about the toxicity of PFAS and one of the treatment options in groundwater. Below are more details about your speakers.
John Jacob is a pharmacist with a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences. Dr. Jacob is known for his works on the treatment aspects of rat lungworm disease (a cerebral parasitic disease). Currently, he is working as the State Toxicologist at the Hawaii Department of Health, and one area of his research focuses on the routes of PFAS exposure and its effects on human health. Dr. Jacob will be presenting some PFAS research data from Maui that his team is actively working on.
Lance I. Robinson, P.E., is the Chief Technology Officer of EN Rx and co-developed the Vertebraeâ˘ď¸ Well Systems and the EN Rx Support Package (SP) technologies cites during his nine year tenure. His experience spans projects in petroleum, pesticides, and solvent remediation, completing projects from inception through closure.
